NZ Marine members from far and wide gathered recently for a one-day NZ Marine Conference at NZ Marine HQ in Auckland.
A strong line-up of speakers included international guests Darren Vaux, Australian-based President of the International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA), and UK-based Joe Lynch F CIM Lynch, CEO of ICOMIA. Darren Vaux and Joe Lynch gave delegates valuable insight into the global marine industry and future outlook, and an overview of ICOMIA’s Pathways to Decarbonisation Study.
An eye-opening session on Artificial Intelligence by SupaHuman AI CEO Dave Howden inspired delegates to embrace the power of AI and emphasised the need to adopt AI to stay competitive. We were also delighted to be joined by Sarah Trotman ONZM of Business Mentors NZ who joined a panel with Michael Eaglen of EV Maritime and Ken Sinclair of Marinerslog discussing their AI experiences with Dave of Supahuman.
Delegates also enjoyed presentations on current immigration laws, cyber security insurance, business mentoring services, free trade agreements, and guidance on how businesses should navigate the current economic climate.
Darren Vaux and Joe Lynch topped off their brief visit to NZ with a tour of the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron to visit the America’s Cup with NZ Marine Executive Director Peter Busfield and NZ Marine President Tracey Stevenson.

Thank you to the 60+ delegates who attended and our great speakers who helped make the event a success.
