Carbon Developments was founded in October 2000 to produce cutting-edge composite components for the marine and automotive industries.
In 2001 the company was put on hold to join One World Challenge, which would be the first of five America’s Cup campaigns, spanning 17 years working at the pinnacle of composite manufacturing, development and testing.
These campaigns included:
- AC 31 – One World Challenge
- AC 32 – BMW Oracle Racing
- AC 33 – BMW Oracle Racing
- AC 34 – Artemis Racing
- AC 35 – Artemis Racing
After the 35th America’s Cup, Carbon Developments Ltd reopened its doors in Auckland, New Zealand. Since then, we have applied the skills and expertise acquired over the last 25 years to produce custom composite components for a variety of projects.
Projects are wide ranging and include a comprehensive rebuild and development of a carbon/kevlar offshore power boat, modifications to Wild Oats X in preparation for the Sydney to Hobart, and providing components and services to Core Builders for the Sail GP F50 Program.
Our facility has a custom built computer controlled and monitored oven with a state of the art vacuum system for curing a wide range of Pre Preg Systems. With our experienced team and an established network of structural engineers, material suppliers, painters and machining support – we are able to provide our customers with industry leading quality and service from project inception to completion.
