Suited to both dry and underwater applications, Vesconite’s internal lubricants allow for prolonged life where the setting is characterized by irregular greasing schedules, or no greasing at all. Unlike most bearing materials, our polymers have a long wear life and a high load-bearing capacity with no distortion or delamination, despite the wet and abrasive working environment.

Vesconite is also easily removed and refitted, saving in costly downtime. Over the past 50 years, hundreds of industrial and leisure marine applications – from yachts to supertankers – have been equipped with Vesconite and Vesconite Hilube, testifying to the polymers’ success in this industry.

While being world-famous in New Zealand, you will also see our fenders on charter boats in Australia, cruising yachts around the world, in the great lakes of the USA, on TP52 race yachts, in America’s Cup syndicates, on Round the World racing yachts, on Antarctic cruise vessels, and everything in between.

In 2007 Cule Hatches was established after repeated approaches from boatbuilders wanting a better quality hatch, more versatility in approach, and direct contact with the manufacturer.   The business grew and earned an enviable reputation for producing premium-quality, boat hatches that offered reliable, durable, performance under severe weather conditions.

In October 2018, Scott and Ursula Hanson bought Cule Hatches and rebranded as ‘Cule Marine Ltd’ to better reflect its position in the marine industry and to allow for other products to enter the mix. Scott and Ursula are committed to building on the innovations and customer relationships that have been established to provide the very best solution for their customers needs.

Cule Marine continue to proudly manufacture high quality, New Zealand-made boat hatches under the watchful eye of Production Manager, Clive Brown and the team at Cule. They offer premium-quality standard and custom-sized hatches, plus custom solutions including retro-fitting. They have also started to produce beach trolley’s for sailing dinghy’s.

In addition, a range of plastic hatches have been sourced from Italy to complement the existing NZ-made products with other ideas in the pipeline.
